What is your GMO policy?
One of the original principles of our founder, Dan, was that none of the products that we offer through swiig contain any bioengineered or GMO ingredients. We source organic ingredients whenever possible, which includes certification that those ingredients are free of GMOs. From our conventional suppliers, we require Letters of Continuing Guarantee assuring that they will consistently and continually provide the Non-GMO ingredients which we originally specified.
I have several food allergies. Is there a list of Allergens that are in your products or the facilities in which they are produced??
The safety of our customers is our top priority, and we recognize the needs of our customers, who have allergies or sensitivities to nuts, gluten, certain spices, etc. All swiig products have an Allergen Warning or Caution Statement which speaks to the ingredients within the package and/or the facility in which the product was packaged. We disclose all ingredients on our swiig products (except for specific spices used in the product) on the ingredient statement as required by the FDA and will answer any questions that will help consumers decide what products they can safely consume.
Our manufacturing partners utilize all current Good Manufacturing Processes and perform all recommended isolations and cross-checks to ensure that cross-contamination and/or inadvertent use of the wrong ingredient does not occur in their facilities.
We want to be clear that many of our products are produced in facilities that process foods containing wheat, milk, soy, tree nuts and seeds. For a document containing all this information for all of our products, click here.
Do you offer gluten-free options?
The FDA defines gluten-free as being any product that contains less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten. As of the start of 2018, we have not completed any testing on our products to have them certified gluten-free. Whereas many of our products are inherently gluten-free, many are packaged in facilities that package other products which are not. Additionally, some of these products may be packaged on shared equipment.
For products on which we make a gluten-free claim, we also clearly provide an Allergen Warning on that product advising of shared facilities and equipment. We understand that the most sensitive consumers may choose to avoid any food that could contain any gluten, even less than 20 ppm. You can see a complete list of all of our products and their Allergen Warnings here. Should you need any additional information, please contact us.
